Changes to the Rasa X Community Edition (Free Version)

What you need to know:
Rasa will stop supporting the Community Edition (free version) of ‘Rasa X’. This does not affect Rasa Enterprise customers and their use of the tooling provided with their subscription.
If you are part of an organization that uses Rasa X but does not have an Enterprise license or subscription please contact sales.
Today we are announcing that Rasa will not be releasing new versions of the Rasa X Community Edition, making Release 1.1 the last free version of Rasa X. Rasa will no longer issue new bug fixes, security updates, or patches for Rasa X.
This change will allow us to invest more in research and development and will enable us to drive innovation within Rasa Enterprise, and place a particular focus on tooling that meets the needs of our enterprise customers and users.
If you’re a Rasa Enterprise customer, nothing changes for you. We are working on some updates which will be released in a future 1.2 release, and if you have any questions please reach out to your customer success team. You should also know that we have even bigger changes in store for you for the second half of 2022 and we’ll keep you posted when the next generation of our tooling will be available along with some of the exciting platform capabilities that extend the value you are already getting from the Rasa Open Source framework.
We will continue to invest in Rasa Open Source, the go-to developer framework for conversational AI and an essential component of our enterprise platform. In fact, we have several open roles for the core development of Rasa Open Source. Our framework now has more than 25 million downloads, and we’re extremely grateful for our fast-growing developer community that includes 15,000+ forum members and 750+ contributors. We look forward to your continued partnership on even bigger improvements in the years to come.
Next Steps
Organizations and users impacted by this change should consider upgrading to Rasa Enterprise. Rasa Enterprise includes essential features that allow multidisciplinary teams to manage and tune their digital assistants. It also provides enterprises with advanced permission management, security, compliance and priority support. These capabilities enable businesses of all sizes to build and operate digital assistants at scale without sacrificing efficiency.
Timeline
This change is effective as of June 8, 2022. If you have installed Rasa X and have plans to use it in production soon, we encourage you to talk to our team to discuss your deployment.
