Chatbots and virtual assistants have played a vital role in broadcasting information during the global Covid-19 pandemic. To increase the coverage and reliability of these solutions, TransPerfect DataForce released a free and open data set to help chatbot developers build AI assistants that can provide Covid-19 information in multiple languages.
TransPerfect created a demo chatbot based on this data set, which answers questions about the origin of the coronavirus, symptoms, statistics and spread, treatments, myths/hoaxes, and more. The chatbot can not only converse in multiple languages; it can recognize the user's language based on their input and switch languages accordingly.
In addition to answering FAQs, the demo chatbot can also provide real-time reports on case statistics, pulled from third-party sites.
