Your Challenge
Build an AI assistant in a domain of your choice and use the Rasa CALM framework. Your assistant should showcase the power of RAG, business logic and LLMs to build assistants that can handle sophisticated conversations and bring real value to users. We highly encourage developers to think of creative ideas for assistants that can bring value to the users.
Below are some ideas to get you inspired:
- Healthcare (booking appointments, accessing relevant information, getting clinic recommendations)
- Aviation (flight booking, manage bookings)
- Governments (citizen services - automating paperwork/bureaucracy)
- Public transportation (buy tickets, planning routes)
- Utility (check bills/usage, change tariffs)
- Telco (roaming, checking charges on bill, buying a new SIM, buying add-ons)
- Grocery / retail / e-commerce (checking order status, reporting issues with delivery, making changes to orders)
- HR (onboarding buddies for new employees, accessing payroll information, booking
$15k Prize Pool
All submitted projects will be evaluated by a group of judges consisting of experts in AI, ML fields. The best solutions will be rewarded with the following prizes:

🥈 2nd place: $3k
🥉 3rd place: $1k
✨ $1k bonus prize for the most interesting Rasa feature/enhancement request.
🤩 10 notable projects will also be rewarded with cool Rasa swag.
Project Timeline
- March 10rd: Challenge begins
- March 31st: Project submission deadline
- April 3rd: Winner Announcements Livestream
- April 4th: Demo Day to showcase the projects
Judging Criteria
Your assistant will be evaluated by a group of industry experts based on the following criteria:
- Is your project unique in its approach, and does it solve a specific problem in conversational AI?
- How well your assistant can handle complex conversations (context switch, corrections, interruptions, etc).
- How well does your assistant combine RAG and transactional flows?
- Does your assistant have integrations with sophisticated backend systems?
- Additional points: Does your assistant use open-source LLMs?
- Additional points: Does your assistant use fine-tuned models?
- Additional points: Does your assistant have integrations with other AI tools?
Requirements
- Projects must leverage Rasa Pro and the CALM framework (included by default with Rasa Pro)
- Projects need to be licensed under a permissive open-source license (like Apache 2.0 or MIT)
- Projects must be new (created during the timeframe of the challenge)
- Individuals and teams can apply
- There is no cap on the number of team members
- One winner or individual representing a team for each prize
What to Submit
To submit your project, fill out the submission form. Your submission should include the following things:
- Link to a GitHub repository. Based on the example here, your repository should be configured to run with GitHub CodeSpaces.
- A 5-minute video presentation recording.
If you’re selected as one of the winners, you can demo your project during the Demo Day on April 4th.
