Bringing Our Team Together in Barcelona: Building for What's Next

I’ve been leading remote-first teams for the past couple decades, and I’ve seen how effective they can be with the right intentionality and support. But remote-first doesn’t mean remote only. I’ve always believed that the company needs to invest in getting together in person to amplify how we work and create momentum across teams.

When you're building in a space as dynamic as conversational AI, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day execution. But every so often, you need to step back, look up, and reconnect with the people you're working alongside.

That's exactly what we did in early November when we brought our entire Rasa team from around the world to Barcelona for our company offsite.

Why We Gather

We're living through what I believe is a super cycle in AI, one of those rare technology shifts that will reshape our world for decades to come. At Rasa, our vision is clear: to empower organizations to create AI agents that seamlessly integrate every customer interaction into a single, ongoing conversation. This isn't just about better chatbots or smarter responses. It's about fundamentally transforming how businesses build lasting relationships with their customers.

But vision alone isn't enough. Turning that into reality in a market moving incredibly fast requires the entire team working in lockstep, and bringing everyone together in person strengthens that alignment.

Throughout the week, the teams focused on our product roadmap and GTM plans, mapping out how we’ll deliver on our big strategic bets. We were all working toward a shared goal of becoming the category-leading platform enterprises need for trusted conversations with their customers. That meant looking at the full journey, from winning builders with a great developer experience to empowering entire conversational AI teams with the tools they need to scale and succeed.

We also made time for what matters beyond work - having fun! In true Barcelona fashion, we competed in Olympic-style challenges and learned to make paella together (some of us were more successful than others). We celebrated our team's unique personalities at our Superlatives Awards: Lauren Goerz for "most likely to whip everyone into shape" and Henry Hu for "most likely to play in the NBA."

Looking Ahead

Leaving the offsite, I felt truly energized. We didn't just plan for 2026. We set the foundation for something bigger. Our mission remains clear: provide the conversational AI platform that empowers enterprises to deliver natural, high-trust experiences that their customers actually want to engage with.

The AI landscape will continue to evolve quickly. But with this team, I'm excited and confident in what we’re building together.

Here's to what's next.
