With our latest release for Summer 2025, we’re excited to empower conversational AI teams with fresh tools to build smarter, more natural assistants that understand users deeply and respond with finesse. This update offers a balanced mix of powerful new features focused on enhancing conversation flow, voice interactions, prompt control, and privacy all designed to give you more control without adding complexity.

Flow control that feels flexible

Rasa Studio now gives you powerful new tools to build clean, flexible conversation flows exactly to spec without clunky workarounds or duplicated steps. Whether you're handling retries, clarifications, or merging branches, the ability to connect nodes lets you design the precise behavior your assistant needs to respond smoothly and stay on track.
Now you can:

  • Loop within flows: Send users back to earlier steps for retries or clarifications, or merge multiple branches into a shared outcome.
  • Use AND/OR logic in conditions: Control when responses appear with more precision, based on collected context or user profiles.
  • Prevent premature digressions: Keep users in flow until they provide key inputs, so your assistant doesn't skip over critical steps.

These updates help you streamline complexity, reduce duplication, and keep your conversations focused and resilient.

Connect steps in Rasa Studio

Customize responses directly in the UI

Rasa Studio now lets you design and edit rich responses (e.g., cards, date pickers, and custom UI elements) directly in the chat widget without writing code. It’s a faster way to build interactive experiences using design affordances that your users can interact with.

When you need more flexibility, open the inline YAML editor to define custom payloads for advanced use cases. Preview each response as you test your assistant, so you can catch issues early and deploy confidently.

Prompt control made simple and precise

How your agent speaks shapes the user experience, and now you have direct control. In Rasa Studio, you can edit prompts for any response, giving you full flexibility over tone and phrasing. Set a consistent voice across your assistant with the global rephraser prompt, or fine-tune individual responses when you need something to land just right.

For advanced users, we’ve exposed prompt editing for the Command Generator and Enterprise Search features. These changes give you deeper influence over how your assistant interprets and responds to tasks. Just keep in mind: editing core prompts can significantly impact behavior. Always test changes thoroughly, and use the "revert" button if you need to roll back to the default version.

Easy-to-use, accessible voice testing

You can now switch between chat and voice testing in Rasa Studio with a single click. Use the inspector panel to speak directly into your browser and see your agent respond in real time, complete with full transcripts for easy review.

Studio handles the heavy lifting behind the scenes. You can connect your own voice stack or use Rasa’s default setup, which includes Deepgram for speech-to-text and Cartesia for text-to-speech. Please note, the default option supports English only.

Silence handling that knows when to wait and when to act

Silence in voice conversations doesn’t have to break the flow. You can now set a global silence timeout (defaulting to seven seconds) and override it for individual steps when needed. When users go quiet, your agent can trigger a fallback action designed for these moments, helping it respond with the right balance of patience or urgency.

Give your users a second chance to be heard

When users miss something, your agent now comes enabled with a pattern to repeat the entire previous turn, not just the last line. This update works in chat and voice, making conversations feel more natural and forgiving. It’s a small change that improves clarity and helps users stay on track without getting stuck on a simple “Sorry, I missed that.” It was designed for voice conversations, a modality where repetition can help understanding.

Privacy Controls built for trust

Data privacy is foundational. This release introduces PII controls that let teams automatically anonymize sensitive data from production conversations so it is not surfaced in conversation logs for internal review. This keeps you compliant with regulations like GDPR while protecting customer privacy.

How it works:

  • Opt in via privacy settings in your endpoints.yml and define the type of PII you would like to redact or mask
  • Automatic anonymisation runs quietly after conversations end, on your custom schedule
  • An API endpoint lets you delete conversations entirely by sender ID
PII and anonymization

The Summer 2025 release gives you sharper tools and smoother workflows so you can focus less on workarounds and more on building agents that really work. Whether you're refining tone, tightening flows, or testing voice, Rasa Studio offers more flexibility without extra overhead.
